Small cap investors like to take risks because the rewards can be higher than those generated by large cap company investments. That said, this risk-taking group of investors have been avoiding stocks in companies that are only drifting along. While the equities market has been volatile this year, we are still seeing small caps stocks with good news to report on generating small cap investor interest.
Hempacco Co., Inc. (NASDAQ: HPCO) wants to disrupt the trillion-dollar tobacco industry with its hemp-based cigarettes, smoking paper, and alternatives to nicotine tobacco products. You may remember HPCO from their hugely successful IPO a couple of weeks ago when the shares opened at 6.0X the IPO price. That lofty IPO price has come back to earth, but this stock is heating up again now.
The company has collaborated with brands such as hip-hop icon Rick Ross and Rap Snacks founder and CEO James Lindsay, a 50/50 joint venture with Cheech and Chong, and a relationship with HBI-Raw, the world’s leading smoking papers company.
On Wednesday, October 12th the company reported that H1 2022 revenues were up 486% YoY coming in at $2.8M. Investors reacted to the company’s good news by boosting the share price by as much as 70% at one point during the day.
Another small cap company delivering good news to investors is Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. (APDN) a producer of LinearDNA using an enzymatic (cell-free) manufacturing platform. Linear DNA is used in diagnostic applications such as IVT templates for RNA production. The company’s Linear DNA products are used for use in nucleic acid-based therapeutics, the detection of DNA in molecular diagnostics testing services, and the manufacture and detection of DNA for industrial supply chain security services.
Earlier this week, the company announced its largest single purchase order for LinearDNA valued above the mid-six figures from a global manufacturer of in vitro diagnostics. In the three days following the announcement, investors have driven the company share price as far as 120% higher.
Traders and Investors like to see these kinds of announcements and will reward the companies showing growth initiatives and future promise.
