The market got a rebound last week with the DJIA gaining 854 points for the week and the NASDAQ, where we find most of the stocks we report on, gained 488 (5%) points.
In fact, the NASDAQ has gained nearly 50% since it hit its YTD bottom on March 23rd, just 13 weeks ago.
While Covid 19 still sweeps across the globe, and in some spots in the USA, investors are taking it in stride. The markets seem to react negatively when news of outbreaks comes out, but then quickly puts the news in perspective and recovers, usually going even higher.
Part of the reason for that may be that investors are uniquely aware of the efforts to develop an effective Covid 19 treatment. As a member of our group you have been exposed to several biopharma companies working to develop a treatment.
We feel, as many of you may feel, that an effective treatment/cure for coronavirus in on the horizon. There are literally hundreds of clinical trials underway and investors experienced in the biopharma sector understand the likelihood that at least one will be successful.
The growth in the NASDAQ is not just fueled by the biotech/biopharma sector. There are many exciting companies and developments to consider as well and we always consider the potential for gains in them.
We have been watching one NASDAQ stock that seems like it could be ready to run. It is a company with rapidly growing revenues and a leader in its market niche.
Like many of the companies we report on, this one has a small share structure and a low float. The company also has significant insider ownership. We really like to see good levels of insider ownership because the management has a vested interest in the success of the company.
The NASDAQ keeps our attention because that is where the innovators, and where the companies on a high growth trajectory are.
