We are in Prime-Time Earnings Season
New report from our watch-list with a prime setup coming tomorrow at market open.
Good day everyone,
We’re not exactly certain about everything going on in America right now; pandemic, impeachment, vaccine confusion, lawsuits and trials, a new administration, and still social unrest.
The major indices are showing strength. Every time the markets pull back for a day or two, they seem to come back at even higher levels.
With that said, the markets must like what is happening on the geopolitical front. With Janet Yellin now confirmed at the Treasury and Jerome Powell with two years left on his Federal Reserve Chair position, Wall Street may believe the economy is in capable hands.
We are in prime-time earnings season with Q4 2020 and FYE 2020 reports coming out. Today we learned that Johnson & Johnson, along with 3M, beat analyst estimates for Q4 and the full year. Notable companies including Raytheon Technologies (RTX), General Electric (GE), DR Horton (DHI), Lockheed Martin (LMT), American Express (AXP), and Verizon (VZ), the parent company of Yahoo Finance, each reported results this morning, and Microsoft (MSFT) and Starbucks (SBUX) are due to report results after market close.
Earnings season, most notably the Q1 reporting has an influence on investor sentiment. Positive earnings reports can instill investor confidence as many companies are beating analyst estimates.
It was two days ago that we told you the NASDAQ Biotech Index was at 5,182 having gained 9.5% so far in 2021. As of this writing the NBI is at 5,220 increasing the YTD gain to 10% Biotech remains strong and is one of the major drivers for the equities markets. 2021 promises to be an exciting year for the biotech sector and we plan to be reporting on it frequently.
We are looking at a company, one we’ve reported on before. One with a tiny share structure. The technical setup and fundamentals are lined up. We are eager to talk with you about it and think you’ll agree with us.
Stay tuned and stay informed,
